Seven MacDonald Illig Attorneys Recognized as Rising Stars in 2024 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers®
MacDonald, Illig, Jones & Britton LLP is pleased to announce that partners Brian Cressman, Michael Micsky, and Jamie Schumacher and our associates Lydia Caparosa, Lauren Holler, Emilie Swan Reinhardt, and Ashley Solo have been selected to the 2024 Pennsylvania Rising Stars list. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers® to receive this honor.
Attorney Caparosa primarily focuses her practice on municipal law, representing municipalities and private individuals. Ms. Caparosa has experience in a variety of municipal law areas, including public meetings, drafting and reviewing ordinances, resolutions and municipal contracts, Sunshine Act and Right-to-Know Law compliance matters, and representing municipalities and private individuals regarding ordinance and code enforcement, zoning, planning, development, and subdivision matters. Ms. Caparosa is an active member in the Erie County Bar Association and is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Council.
Attorney Cressman focuses his practice on counseling businesses and school districts. Attorney Cressman’s practice tracks the day-to-day issues faced by businesses and school districts, including contract drafting, labor and employment matters, organizational management and succession issues, and dealing with supply chain disputes. While the majority of his practice is deals with the transactional and day-to-day business issues facing his clients, Attorney Cressman is experienced in litigation and prepared to advocate for his clients. Attorney Cressman prides himself on staying up-to-date on changes in the law and the issues facing his clients so as to provide the best service possible.
Attorney Holler, who is licensed in Pennsylvania and Ohio, focuses her practice on traditional labor law and employment law representing private and public employers. She advises employers on union organizing and collective bargaining matters to develop mutually-beneficial labor relations with their employees, and she represents employers in grievance and arbitration proceedings. She also defends individual, class, and collective actions in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies in employment-related litigation including discrimination, wage and hour, and unfair competition claims.
Attorney Micsky works in the firm's Real Estate & Banking, Business Transactions, Construction, Manufacturing, Transportation & Logistics, and Government Services Practice Groups. He has experience working with public and private clients of all sizes and types, both domestically and internationally. In addition to his transactional work, he also handles contract negotiations, dispute resolution, and litigation for his clients. Attorney Micsky is active in the Erie County Bar Association and with various professional and community organizations.
Attorney Reinhardt focuses her practice on estate, trust, and elder care planning, estate administration, tax planning, and real estate matters. Ms. Reinhardt is experienced in providing a strategic plan for her clients that accomplish their goals while also being tax effective and presents seminars on these issues frequently. She is a member of the Erie County Bar Association and a Board Member of Junior Achievement.
Attorney Schumacher is a trial lawyer appearing in both federal and state courts. She is a member of the firm’s Commercial/General Litigation Practice Group, Labor & Employment Practice Group, and Government Services Practice Group. Her experience includes a wide variety of litigation matters. Ms. Schumacher is currently the second Vice President of the Erie County Bar Association’s Board of Directors. She also is the Chair of the Civil Litigation Section and a member of the Women's Division and multiple committees. She sits on numerous other legal and community Boards and Committees and is a frequent author and speaker on issues of substantive law and practice. This is the sixth year that Ms. Schumacher has been recognized as a Rising Star.
Attorney Solo works in the Commercial/General Litigation and Insurance/Personal Injury Practice Groups. Her practice focuses on insurance defense, workers’ compensation, tax assessment and tax exemption litigation, environmental matters, and general litigation. Ms. Solo’s experience includes involved client interaction, drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs; conducting depositions; and participating in trials and other court hearings. She is a member of the Erie County Bar Association. She is also a board member of Game Changer Sports Ministry and a member of Penn State Behrend’s Political Science Advisory Board.
