What benefits are provided?
The Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act provides for medical expenses for work-related injuries. If you are unable to work, the Act provides wage loss benefits until you are able to return to work. Death benefits for work-related deaths are paid to dependent survivors. The permanent loss of use of all or part of a thumb, finger, hand, arm, leg, foot, toe, sight, hearing, or serious and permanent disfigurement on the head, face or neck, may entitle the employee to a specific loss award. Benefits are paid by private insurance companies or the State Workers' Insurance Fund.
