What are CAM charges?
CAM (or common area maintenance) charges are typically utilized when there is more than one tenant renting space in a building. Common area maintenance charges are each tenant's proportional payments to the landlord or building manager for shared costs that would benefit all tenants within the building for the maintenance or other services being performed. CAM charges may include expenses to maintain and repair the roof, parking garages, lobby, hallways and stairwells, and other shared expenses such as pest control, security services, and general building repairs and upkeep.
