How long must I pay child support?

A child support obligation continues until the minor child reaches 18 and has graduated from high school. Both of these events must occur before your obligation ends. Child support may be ordered to be paid via a wage attachment through the Domestic Relations Section of the Court. If an Order is issued for child support, the paying spouse must petition Domestic Relations to have support end once the child has reached age 18 and has graduated from high school.
