Lisa Smith Presta and Jenna Bickford Present at CAPE Seminar

MacDonald Illig attorneys Lisa Smith Presta and Jenna Bickford presented "HIPAA Issues in a High-Tech World" at the 2014 CAPE (Coalition of Attorneys & Physicians in Erie) Seminar held at the Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel on Tuesday, April 29th, 2014.  Ms. Presta and Ms. Bickford reviewed privacy and security risks associated with increased use of electronic communications, use of the portable electronic devices in the provision of health care and the Security Rule requirements and strategies for safeguarding ePHI.  They also identified when, why, and how to document electronic patient encounters.
