Specializing in real estate and commercial finance, Jim prides himself on his ability to consistently deliver high quality service to his clients, no matter what it takes. He is an Erie native and is known as a personable, responsive, and charismatic attorney who can pull together the right, highly committed team to get his clients what they need, when they need it. To aid in this, Jim takes personal interest in his clients, which helps build the relationship between attorney and client necessary to best serve his clients’ needs.
A partner at MacDonald Illig, Jim returned to Erie in 2011 after practicing law in Chicago for 11 years, first at Bell, Boyd & Lloyd (now K&L Gates), then at Fuchs & Roselli, Ltd. Jim has continued developing his practice and now represents and advises individuals, businesses and lenders in a wide variety of real estate, business, and financing matters, including residential, industrial, commercial and multi-unit transactions; commercial leasing; and commercial and residential lending. Specifically, Jim has extensive experience in representing developers of real estate who acquire, finance, develop and operate industrial, office and retail projects. He also represents business owners in a variety of matters, commercial and real estate mortgage lenders in financing business and real estate loans, and commercial landlords and tenants throughout the lease negotiation process.
